6 July 2017 - IEEE NSW Casual Teacher Forum at UTS

The event will be held from 10:30AM - 12:30PM

Presenters from a number of NSW universities will be coming together to share their teaching experiences and discuss solutions to common problems. This is an opportunity for casual teaching staff to reflect on their teaching and gain an appreciation of best practice at other universities. Some of the presentations include:

- Student ratings in the laboratory: What does this tell me about their learning? (UOW)

- Teaching strategies and difficulties (WSU)

- Best tools for teaching (UTS)

- Making power engineering labs great again (UOW)

- Challenges of the head tutor (MQU)

There are still some presenters slots available. A $50 gift voucher will be provided to casual teachers (must also be an IEEE member) that are selected to present.

Register for the event at: https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/m/45463

There are two types of presentations:

- Standard will be limited to 8minutes and follow with 3-5minutes of questions. These presentations will be entitled to a $50 gift voucher (must be an IEEE member). However, non- IEEE members can still present.

- Discussion will be a 2minute introduction to a topic that will then lead to a 10 minute debate or discussion with the audience.

This event is supported by the UTS IEEE Student Branch

Expressions of interest for presentations should be submitted by the close of business 31st of May 2017.
